De Facto Entertainment (UK Rap label) have just dropped this brand new EP from London rapper MISTA FLIX. From the production, to the artwork to the concepts and lyrics, this is dope! Feeling this, check it you like more lyrical stuff like Immortal Technique, Gulity Simpson, Talib Kweli and UK acts such as Taskforce and Jehst.

Mista Flix enters with this new EP almost sounding like a different emcee, he is a UK emcee but I think has a slight American attitude to the way he delivers multi-syabil flows reminding me of RA Rugged Man or Masta Killa. ‘Clash Of The Titans’ produced by Stealf kicks off the EP well as Flix going in on the bars on a sort of ‘taking no prisoners’ type way but its Kobi Wood’s ‘The Spinning Wheel’ tucked right at the back on the project that got me banging me head. Some real future funk flavours with Mista Flix going in nice over melodies and rough sound drums. Mista Flix has on heaps and bounds since his five track EP ‘Conceptualized Deceit’ and with his album ‘The Gospel For The Rap School’ is already in the works 2012 looks like its going to be a busy on for this underground Hip-Hop emcee.

Mista Flix hooked up with producer and De FactoEntertainment label boss Stealf back in July 2011 when they released the well received five track EP ‘Conceptualized Deceit’. Since then Mista Flix has been hard on his grind creating a whole barrage of new songs for future projects whilst Stealf has been reshaping the direction of his label De Facto as well as releasing and producing the dope EP ‘Beats & RhymesVol.1′ from US rapper Jackitdown Brown which featured Kool G Rap.

Fast forward to November 2011 when it came to light that the London based emcee had in fact signed to De Facto Entertainment. Now Mista Flix has a string of future projects planned all of which perfectly compliments the De Facto sound and outlook for hip hop. A full length Stealf produced album entitled ‘The Gospel For The Rap School’ is already in the works and will be available digitally in May along with a limited edition run of 100 physical copies which will contain two CD’s, the album and instrumental version, along with a DVD showing the recording process of the project.

To keep your appetites wetted till then Mista Flix has teamed up with producers Karnage, Kobi Wood and Stealf for this De Facto Entertainment release.

‘The Lord Of The Real EP’ is available for FREE download and Mista Flix displays clever, intricate flows coupled with that dope Boom Bap sound we’ve come to expect from De Facto Entertainment. This is straight Hip Hop, Bars and Beats, no messing! Get your free download now and keep it locked for more from DeFacto in 2012. Big Up as always to our friends at Park Street PR for putting us on to yet another dope UK release.

Mista Flix The Lord Of Real EP Review – Originally posted at http://hiphop4days.com/2012/01/14/mista-flix-the-lord-of-the-real-producers-stealf-karnage-kobi-wood-de-facto-entertainment/

Stealf has been busy of late setting up his label De Facto Entertainment ready for some new releases. He has put his album ‘I Am Stealf’ on hold due to production commitments with his new artist Mista Flix who impressed us a few months back with his ‘Conceptualized Deceit’. This is a gear up from that release as we can literally hear how Flix has focussed more and upped his levels. Beats on the EP come from Stealf, Karnage & Kobi Wood, but to be honest Stealf is the only producer here we’ve heard of.

Mista Flix can rap there’s no doubting that, and delivery is tight throughout the EP. He is working on his debut album at the moment but I think it would be nice to see a mixtape or maybe some videos first! De Facto are about ‘real Hip-Hop’ and there’s a massive influx of golden era styles infused within production techniques and approach to recordings. This is underground music at its most original, but I do think the music could benefit from being a bit more ‘outside the box’ in the future. This is music that actually says something. Looking forward to more music soon.

Mista Flix – The Lord Of The Real EP
Written by tricksta – Originally posted at http://www.ragomagazine.com/eps/mista-flix-the-lord-of-the-real-ep.html

This is a good EP that UK Rap fans should definitely check for. Its lyrical onslaughts from the off from Mista Flix over some nice forward thinking production from the well respected UK beat-maker and CEO Stealf, alongside Karnage & Kobi Wood. Mista Flix has come along way since his summer 2011 release ‘Conceptualized Deceit’ EP. Six tracks deep this EP goes in from the start with Clash Of The Titans, Three Little Pigs and The Spinning Wheel being the stand out choice cuts for me. This is another solid Hip-Hop release from a label to watch in 2012.

For those didn’t cop last summers ‘Conceptualized Deceit EP’ from rapper

Mista Flix and producer Stealf then this will be something new, for that did,

well what can I say people? They’re back! Yes it’s a ‘guest free’ zone too which

I like because it really gives us time to focus on Mista Flix more. Now signed to

De Facto, Mista Flix joins the likes of Clas-sick and Stealf as a label mate with

this being just a taste of what’s to come.

On-point with the bars and the flow, rapper Mista Flix tears through five bangers,

‘Clash Of The Titans’ produced by Stealf being my personal favourite. This is quality

UK Hip-Hop with top notch beats and heavy-hitting concepts.

This ladies and gentlemen is De Facto… and we like it.

I thought I’d get some pics up of my studio so people could see where and what I make my music with. I’ve built the studio up over about 7 years, starting off with a borrowed laptop, Reason 2.5 and a Boss SP505 sampler and slowly built it up to what you see here. If, like me, you love to see other peoples studios and what people work with, then this should be a treat…Enjoy!

This is my Mackie DXB200 digital mixing desk, Maschine and the iMac. The Mackie acts as a mixing desk for the MPC (out of shot) as well as a control surface for Logic.

The MPC4000 runs in to the Mackie DXB and from there I can mix down the outputs from the MPC and send them in to Logic.

I’m a massive MPC fan, and so far I’ve owned a 2000, 2000XL, 2500, 5000 and now I’m running the 4000, which I can honestly say is STILL the best MPC Akai have ever made.

This is the area behind the mixing desk. This is where I keep my stacks of wax, along with the midi keyboard.
